Preeclampsia: ezmûna kesane, pitik di zikê dayikê de mir

Her baby stopped breathing at 32 weeks gestation. All that mother has left as a keepsake of the child is a few pictures from his funeral.

Christy Watson was only 20 years old with a lifetime ahead of her. She was finally truly happy: Christie dreamed of a child, but three pregnancies ended in miscarriages. And so everything worked out, she informed her miracle baby until the 26th week. The forecasts were very bright. Christie has already invented a name for her future son: Kaizen. And then her whole life, all the hopes, the joy of waiting for the meeting with the baby – everything collapsed.

When the deadline passed 25 weeks, Christie felt that something was wrong. She began to have terrible swelling: her legs did not fit into her shoes, her fingers swelled so much that she had to part with the rings. But the worst part is the headaches. The agonizing migraine attacks lasted for weeks, from the pain Christie even saw badly.

“The pressure jumped, then bounced, then fell. The doctors said that this is all perfectly normal during pregnancy. But I was sure that it was not so “, – wrote Christie on her page at facebook.

Christie tried to get her to have an ultrasound scan, took a blood test, and consulted with other specialists. But the doctors simply brushed her aside. The girl was sent home and advised to take a headache pill.

“I was scared. And at the same time, I felt very stupid – everyone around me thought that I was just a whiner, I was complaining about pregnancy, ”says Christie.

Only at the 32nd week, the girl managed to persuade her to do an ultrasound scan. But her doctor was in a meeting. After promising Christy in the waiting room for two hours, the girl was sent home – with another recommendation to take a pill for headache.

“It was three days before I felt my baby stopped moving. I went to the hospital again and finally got an ultrasound scan. The nurse said that my little Kaizen’s heart was no longer beating, ”says Christie. “They didn’t give him a single chance. If they had done an ultrasound scan at least three days earlier, took blood for analysis, they would have understood that I have severe preeclampsia, that my blood is poison for the child … “

The baby died at the 32nd week of pregnancy from preeclampsia – a serious complication during pregnancy, which often ends in the death of both the fetus and the mother. Christie had to induce labor. A lifeless boy was born, her little son, who never saw the light.

The girl, half-dead with grief, asked to be allowed to say goodbye to the child. The photograph that was taken at that moment is the only thing that remains in her memory of Kaizen.

Now Christie herself had to fight for her life. Postpartum preeclampsia was killing her. The pressure was so high that the doctors were seriously afraid of a stroke, the kidneys were failing.

“My body has been struggling for too long, trying to keep both of us alive – my boy and me,” says Christie bitterly. – It’s so scary to realize that I was neglected, risked the life inside me, the life in which I have invested so much. You wouldn’t wish that on your worst enemy either. “

Christie did it. She survived. But now she has the most terrible thing ahead: to return home, to go into the nursery, already ready for the appearance of the little Kaizen there.

“A cradle in which my boy will never sleep, books that I will never read to him, suits that he is not destined to wear … All because no one wanted to hear me. My little Kaizen will live only in my heart. “
