What are rolls?
Krenk is a type of wobbler, distinguished by its size and shape. They are a small pot-bellied, as if overeaten fish. Crankbaits are baits with a very controversial reputation. They are either incredibly praised, or they say that the catchability leaves much to be desired.
The point here is the primitiveness and simplicity of such a bait, but this is precisely what gives it an advantage. It is very good to use rolls for beginners in fishing, but sometimes athletes also do not refuse to use it in fishing.
Krenkov has its own classification. The following subspecies are distinguished:
- Feta. Translated from English, “Fat” means “thick”, which resembles the shape of this bait. They have a short and almost round body. In most cases, they imitate insects, so they are used for seasonal fishing. Among the fats there are lures that look like fish. Active play distinguishes this type of krenkov.
- Flats (Flat). They have a flat body shape. They have average active play. They are best used in quiet backwaters where there is no strong current.

When, where and how best to catch them
These wobblers can be caught almost anywhere. However, there are some places where stable fishing results are noted:
- oxbow lakes and places of rivers with a minimum flow;
- sections of reservoirs with changing bottom topography;
- a zone along the coastal line of algae;
- reservoirs, ponds and other bodies of water where the current is weak or absent;
- branches, channels of large rivers.
It is better to catch rolls on the terrain, where there are no underwater snags or mounds; for fishing, a wobbler with a working depth of at least 2,5 meters is taken. When fishing for dumps, the boat is placed on the edge, the bait is cast and carried along the dump. In crooked places, the crank should be buried no more than 1 meter, but if it is known exactly where the snag is, then the wobbler should be carried next to it.
This type of wobbler is universal. You can catch a pike in any situation, mastering it is also very simple. The main wiring when fishing on a roll is uniformity, that is, uniform winding of the fishing line. However, over time, the angler begins to experiment, introducing some elements of jerks, stop & go postings. Any manipulation can sometimes provoke a toothy predator to attack.
As for seasonality, you can catch this wobbler from the moment the rivers are free of ice and ending with the formation of freeze-up, but fishing is most effective in summer and autumn.

- larger size of the bait, at least 4-5 centimeters;
- good weight, at least 10 grams, otherwise the bait will not fly well and lose the stability of the wiring;
- constant game, the pike loves when the wobbler works clearly and without failures;
- the body must be made of durable, good plastic, otherwise the pike will simply gnaw through it with its powerful teeth.
